WRITING

In 3rd grade, I wrote a story called How the Giraffe Got His Splotches. When my teacher asked if I meant to write spots, I told him that a giraffe’s markings aren’t round like spots—they look more like a splotch of spilled paint. While I didn’t know it then, I had started to discover my voice and understand that writing gave me a way to express it. I enjoy academic and creative writing. Each year, I write a small collection of poems for my mother for Christmas.
